2/24/2001 Chester Gap to Denton Shelter ~ 6.3 miles

I was expected the trip up and over High Knob to be harder than the climb out of Manassas Gap.  I was totally wrong about that.  It was a very smooth up and down.

I checked out the Mosby Primitive campsite, and it's a decent spot, but I couldn't see much in terms of tent sites because of the snow cover, but there's enough flat for more than one.  There's also a big established fire ring.  The Denton Shelter is a Hiker Hilton -- it's quite nice as well as being big.  I hear the solar shower doesn't work, but it has a covered picnic table and a nice porch chair.

Now I just have that nasty bit from Ashby Gap to Rt. 7 to link up with the northerm part of my mileage.
