29 June 2001 ~ Black Horse Gap ~  13 miles hiked

Again, it was very hot.  At least we didn't have all our gear.  I didn't see much in the way of a view from Fulhardt Knob, and come to think of it, I never saw anything like a knob up there.  It got a little rockier is all.  The shelter at Fulhardt Knob is dry, surprise, surprise.

I feel really bad for the thru hikers on this section.  The water situation just stinks.

The views from the Blue Ridge Parkway were better than those from the trail.  I shouldn't be surprised -- it's the old location of the trail.  The AT was displaced by the BRP.
